StreamNet develops data (by data type) from the region’s management agencies by converting them to a commonly agreed on format (our Data Exchange Standard – DES) and adding georeferencing.
StreamNet uses the term "Data Category" to refer to various types of data (redd counts, dam facilities, etc.).
For current data types that have a DES, trends are updated annually and other less regular data are updated as needed. The project is trying to expand data development to additional data types and develop exchange formats for them.
Data in StreamNet are updated at various intervals, depending on the type of data. Data sets relating to monitoring activities such as redd counts and dam counts are generally updated annually while GIS layers and data sets of a more static nature are updated as information becomes available. Because the Data Store is a data set archive, data sets housed there are generally not updated.
